Corporate Overview
Piedmont Chemical Industries, Inc. is a privately owned chemical manufacturer
that is headquartered in High Point, NC. Founded in 1938 to support the local
textile industry, the corporation has since evolved into 4 different production
sites in three states, with additional warehousing and distribution facilities
in North Carolina.
The corporation, which began as a two man operation, now employs over two
hundred people who together produce in excess of 75,000 metric tons of products
annually. These products are marketed to customers who in turn service a myriad
of industries, including: aerospace, bio-remediation and environmental
reclamation, cosmetics and personal care, janitorial, metal working, mining,
oil field recovery, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, textiles and veterinary
supply.
In addition to providing support materials to the suppliers of these
industries, each of the Piedmont sites directly markets to the textile
manufacturing industry. The products are used to process in excess of 4 billion
pounds of textile substrates annually. These products have seen the greatest
depths of the ocean, as coatings in submarine air filters, as well as the
infinity of the heavens, as softener on the Apollo moon mission astronauts'
socks.
Today the company is driven by the philosophical principle of self reliance.
Our goal is to be as basic in manufacturing capability and as self-sufficient
in raw material supply as practically possible. This principle, combined with
the overall commitment of our work force to the twin virtues of quality and
service, is the foundation for the corporation's decades of continuous growth
and will remain our guiding force into the future.
